However, with the help of the IATA NDC standard, more and more airlines – Lufthansa being one of the pioneers – are now making their lowest fares and special offers available exclusively through direct distribution channels and are charging significantly high additional fees (“Distribution Cost Charges”) for bookings made on the GDS.

Yet, due to the growing competition in online commerce it is essential that flights can be offered at an airline’s lowest fare. Data Feed

HitchHiker’s Flight Data Feed is a service designed for Tour Operators, OTAs as well as Airlines.

Based on your individual requirements the Data Feed generates flight data including all price, routing, tax and surcharge information. You may choose between availability-checked net fare data or high-quality low cost carrier data.

A great variety of export formats allow for importing the flight data in the systems of your choice, including but not limited to established tour operator system and Peakwork’s player/hub environment.

HitchHiker.Agent is the optimal and efficient flight search and booking system for consolidators, travel agency collaborations and travel agencies.

Using the intuitive, graphical User Interface all call center employees, travel agents and travel consultants are able to find and book the best deals from a variety of fares within a very short time. Using the software does not require any GDS knowledge. HitchHiker.Agent provides all relevant information such as flight times, booking and cabin classes, booking restrictions, prices and service charges.

In addition, the agent can calculate an individual service charge and automatically generate offers. For example, low-cost airlines are precursors on specific routes, while an individual GDS’ may provide better prices or quality on certain routes. Also, the GDS does not always provide you with your preferred airline in the best-price request.

The management of guaranteed availabilities (allotments) has until now required a great deal of manual effort, especially for travel and cruise operators and airlines, which serve groups of nine and more passengers. HitchHiker is one of the few technology providers on the market, which provides a professional solution for your flight contingencies and group bookings.

For example, the HitchHiker Allotment Manager gives you the option of automating scheduled actions which refer to the management of your allotments and bookings, such as dispatching emails to an airline or the automated data import from Amadeus Negospace.

Inspired by our customers’ day-to-day routine, HitchHiker developed a Queue Robot which now offers an array of valuable modules to automate your business processes.

These include automated management of schedule changes and wait lists, standardized queuing of bookings, triggering of third party systems and ticketing of Direct Connect Bookings.
Most recently the queue robot has been enhanced by a repricing function empowering an automated fare optimization for your flight bookings.

            • Repricing: The Queue Robot optimizes your flight bookings by automatically searching for cheaper fares based on your interval settings. If a lower fare is found, the booking can be moved to a certain queue for manually processing by an agent or it can be rebooked automatically to the lower fare. By passing on this price advantage directly to your customer, the customer’s experience will certainly be improved.
            • Schedule Changes: If the airline announces a schedule change, then the GDS sends the affected PNR to a predefined queue. The Queue Robot monitors the queue and processes the PNR according to the rules specified in the system. Said rules can define a time-frame, in which automated processing, optional messaging to the customer and subsequent queuing of the PNR can all be carried out. If the predefined time-frame is exceeded, then the PNR can be sent to a queue for further manual processing.
            • Waitlists: After a seat that was on waitlist has been confirmed in a booking, the GDS passes the affected PNR to a predefined queue, which is monitored by the Queue Robot. The Queue Robot automatically confirms the waitlist and according to the settings, cancels the protection segment and sends the PNR to the configured queue.
            • Interface File: To trigger third party systems (with e.g. a last ticket date file or back office file) the Queue Robot creates a file with PNR information in one of the available data formats, e.g. HitchHiker Backoffice File Format.
            • Queuing: The Queue Robot automatically checks the remarks of each PNR for a user-defined character string (search string) and passes the PNR, which contains said search string to a predefined queue. Optionally, it can be sent to a different queue if the PNR does not contain said search string.
            • Direct Connect Ticketing: Based on a tariff saved in the PNR, the HitchHiker Queue Robot can optionally add a “form of payment” & “commission” to the PNR and create a ticket on the Farelogix System. Afterwards, the PNR is moved from the incoming queue to another predefined queue. Finally, if required, a back office file is created.
